Some R.G. updates…

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I’m trying to update R.G. with the resources I’ve been using over the last term, I’m somewhat neglected the website of late. I’ve made another update to the KS4 extreme environments page and the KS3 rivers page. Around 600 individual resources now across my websites and blogs.

Meena- she’s great.

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Meena is a popular cartoon character in South-East Asia, she has been helping UNICEF promote social issues. We use one of Meena’s cartoons when considering female literacy- Meena isn’t sent to school. I can’t remember where we purchased the videos from…

Here Meena helps by promoting personal hygiene.

There are a number of English comic book versions of Meena online, but I like the foreign language cartoons, a nice way of getting students to consider the issues just from the interaction of the characters.

Percy in Portuguese

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

I do like the Internet, particularly the sharing of ideas and resources across national boundaries, I like the fact that I can follow foreign geo-educators such as Geofactualidades by using Google’s translation tool. Here is Percy’s journey but in Portuguese.
